Start with ownership, not appearance

A high-value realistic companion is a physical object you must receive, move, store, clean and maintain. Before comparing faces or styling, decide what weight you can safely handle, where the product will be stored, which material tradeoffs fit your priorities, and what level of after-sale support you need.

Compare normalized specifications

Manufacturer pages describe products differently. DollMetric normalizes height, weight, material, skeleton, technology, warranty, shipping and seller information so differences become easier to see.

Verify the seller

For expensive customized products, retailer quality can matter as much as the model. Check who is taking payment, where the item ships from, how defects are handled, what customization can be changed after ordering, and whether the warranty is written clearly.

Plan for total cost

Include shipping, accessories, storage, maintenance, replacement parts, software subscriptions and possible upgrades—not only the advertised base price.

There is no universal winner

Silicone and TPE can both produce realistic products, but they behave differently. Compare the exact formulation and manufacturer process rather than treating either material as one uniform category.

Questions to ask

How easily does the surface stain? What cleaners are approved? How much does the body weigh? Which repairs can the manufacturer support? Are cavities removable or fixed? How does the material behave around joints and high-stress areas?

Weight is a usability specification

A product can look ideal online and still be impractical if you cannot move it safely. Consider lifting from a crate, moving between rooms, bathing or cleaning, dressing, repositioning and long-term storage.

Plan the route before delivery

Measure doors, stairs and storage. Consider whether a stand, cart or second person will be needed. Packaging and shipping crates may be much larger and heavier than the product itself.

Compare weight with height
